On Tuesday, Chanel showed their Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection in Paris. Karl Lagerfeld always dreams up an elaborate setting for his runway (past seasons have included a farm, a merry-go-round, and a larger-than-life-sized Chanel handbag), and this season was no different; models walked around a giant iceberg in a shallow pool of water — that’s right, they got the clothes wet!
Like many of the other Fall collections that we’ve seen so far, Chanel had tons of fur incorporated into the designs, but all of the fur that came down the iceberg runway was faux! More »

From Girlybubble: When iconic fashion designer Coco Chanel created her label Chanel, I do not think she had sports equipment in mind. The Parisian fashion house has created a collection of sports gear for 2010. Included in the collection are surfboards, snowboards, skis, tennis racquets, footballs, basketballs, bicycles, riding crop, golf clubs, and even a raft. More »

The spring 2010 haute couture Paris fashion week is in full swing and that means one thing and one thing alone — more haute couture works of art for us to die over. Die, as in the Rachel Zoe kind of death. For those not familiar with haute couture and how it’s different from ready-to-wear fashion, just know that haute couture fashion is more elaborate in process and materials and super custom-fitted. Meaning, you can’t just waltz into a fashion house and grab an haute couture piece off the rack. Your dress has to be fitted and it has to fit you perfectly. I mean, with the kind of money you’d be forking over — why not? Haute couture is only worn by a small, micro-sized group of people in this world. Fortunately, that doesn’t stop me from showing you my faves of this season! More »

The couture shows have been happening this week in Paris, which means that I’ve been drooling over them all week. What I wouldn’t give to be there taking in the couture and eating copious amounts of opèra pastries! Ah, well, that’s what the internet is for, right? Some fashion writers have been a little bit critical of the collections, but one that seems to be popular with everyone is Chanel. More »

Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour and Coco Chanel comprise a holy trinity of fashion masterminds. For a lot of fashionistas, this trinity is revered as sacred and untouchable. Movies, books and maybe songs are all dedicated to the vision and work this trinity has contributed to the world of fashion. Now, there’s just one more thing to add to that list paying homage to such a holy fashion trinity: Fashion Mice. More »

Sad news. My favorite high-fashion model and G-Dragon entourage friend, Daul Kim, was found dead in her apartment in Paris this morning. According to NYMag, the cause of death is unknown, but there’s reason to believe that she committed suicide. At only 20 years old, she’s had quite a whirlwind of a modeling career in an industry that can be unforgiving to diversity. From the runways of Chanel to Prada, she held it down for Asian women. I’ve nothing but respect for Daul Kim. More »
