Malan Breton, best known for starring as a Project Runway (Season 3) contestant showed his Spring 2012 collection at New York Fashion Week. Always one to support an Asian designer, I was there to show my support. Entitled Fantôme, Breton’s collection is inspired by the artwork of wildlife photographer John Aiden, and the Chinese ceremony of the New Moon. For those not keen on either, the collection is further described as incorporating the diaphanous movement of ethereal beings while still maintaining Breton’s signature Saville row tailoring. More »
Spring is the time of year when we start to shed all of those winter layers, but sometimes the weather still isn’t quite warm enough to go without a coat. One of the most classic ways to stave off the chill of early Spring is a trench coat. As far as I can tell, there isn’t anyone who can’t wear a trench coat, meaning that this is a look that isn’t body-type specific. Depending on which coat you pick, trenches can look really casual or they can pull together a dressy outfit too! I like to always have a classic khaki trench in my wardrobe, as well as a fun one — right now I have a pretty black satin one too.
