Malan Breton, best known for starring as a Project Runway (Season 3) contestant showed his Spring 2012 collection at New York Fashion Week. Always one to support an Asian designer, I was there to show my support. Entitled Fantôme, Breton’s collection is inspired by the artwork of wildlife photographer John Aiden, and the Chinese ceremony of the New Moon. For those not keen on either, the collection is further described as incorporating the diaphanous movement of ethereal beings while still maintaining Breton’s signature Saville row tailoring. Somehow, I ended up sitting front row for the past Doo.Ri Spring 2012 runway show. Usually, when it comes to New York Fashion Week, work will basically hand me a fashion week itinerary and say, “You’ll go here and you’ll like it.” And I go, without hesitation. Award nights, let it be the Oscars or the Emmys, one very important highlight of the special night is always the red carpet.
