Christian Louboutin’s ‘Frankenstein’ of a shoe, the Spooky Vernis, seems to have been released just in time for Halloween.
As a part of the Fall/Winter 2012 collection, this design is not as spooky as it sounds, but it does offer a nice surprise. This men’s flat borrows the elegance of three of Louboutin’s famous silhouettes - the Rollerboy, the Harvanana and the Henri - and can be called the dark cousin of Louboutin’s ‘Rollerboy‘ and ‘Harvanana.’
The majority of the slip-on’s upper features construction in an understated velvet, but as you venture further away from the heel, you are met with shiny patent leather graced with discreet metal tips. A classic shoe that seems subtle at first glance, the Spooky Vernis is a combination of some of the greatest detailing Christian Louboutin has to offer - a sure attention grabber without being too loud.
Priced at €625.00 EUR ($895 USD), the Spooky Vernis can be found here.
