London is once again the world’s fashion capital

Summer may be simmering down, but London is on fire. The British city just won its second consecutive title as fashion capital of the world this year, and New Yorkers and Los Angelenos all over the world are desperately trying to pretend they’re not mad.

Media analysts at Global Language Monitor conducted their annual multimedia survey to find out which city had the most attention in fashion. So, why London? President of GLM Paul Payack cited Kate Middleton’s obvious involvement in the win: “Kate Middleton has proved to be incredibly impactful of the British fashion brand.” And let’s not forget that the Olympics also helped the city being named the fashion capital of the world.

We probably could have guessed just as much. Though New York placed second on the list this year, it seems London is well deserving of its fashion moment. Congratulations!
