American Apparel to make debut at Japan Fashion Week

Last year Japan Fashion Week became an official Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and so American Apparel has decided to have their first runway debut in Tokyo instead of their home-based country in America.

Amercian Apparel spoke to Fashionista and they confirmed that they would be debuting on Japan Fashion Week. This is what a spokesperson told Fashionista about why they chose Japan:

It’s a newcomer on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week scene and Tokyo is a city that is very open minded to new, creative ideas, particularly when it comes to fashion.

Japan Fashion Week is now finalizing their invitation list and preparing an invitation and an after party. American Apparel is also one of the first brand on Mercedes Fashion Week without one head designer, they themselves say they are “very very excited about it.”
