Macy’s stuns with a record-setting 280,000 pairs for new shoe floor!

The females of the world are both rejoicing and planning a visit to Macy’s right now. The chain of department store’s new floor of shoes has been deemed the “world’s largest” of them all. They “put their flagship store through a complete overhaul (for a whopping $400 million!).” The pairs of kicks cover 39,000 square feet.

Terry Lundgren, Macy’s Chairman and CEO, shares with WWD:

Shoes for women in particular is such an important part of the wardrobe. She can wear the same pair of shoes on multiple occasions, but you wouldn’t catch her wearing the same sportswear or dress three times a week…When you can satisfy a woman with a great pair of shoes, you can convert her to a core customer in other categories.

Oh, you wise one. That’s an insane amount of shoes!
