Salvatore Ferragamo to design Olympic uniforms for San Marino Athletes

The 2012 London Olympics are only a few days away and the excitement is almost unbearable. Of course we’re sitting in front of our TVs for the competitions, but the uniforms that each country wears is also something to look out for.

And for Italy’s independent microstate of the Republic of San Marino, those athletes will be receiving uniforms designed by Salvatore Ferragamo. The brand’s signature look is very sophisticated and chic, but at the same time elegant. Creative director Massimiliano Giornetti has incorporated this into the lineup of clothes to create one great look.

The men will be donning a subtle pin-striped suit for official ceremonies while the women will be wearing a crepe de chine shirt and a blue linen blazer with white cotton pants. The rest of the women’s wardrobe consists of a white silk crepe dress with a draped neckline, poplin button-down shirts and beige cotton pants, a trench, a lightweight down jacket, and a cashmere sweater.

The male athletes will have a trench matched with a cashmere turtleneck and blue chinos, a blue blazer with beige cotton pants, and also a knitted bomber with a detachable nylon vest.
