In case you missed the show, Alexander Wang’s Fall 2012 collection during fashion week definitely struck conversation all around. Perhaps it was the consistent set of colors, for when it wasn’t a dark shade of navy blue or a deep burgundy- it had to be black or white. Most of the pieces were covered with some sort of glossy surface. Let’s not forget those knee-high boots and mouth covers, which were adorned by most models.
Of course, we must mention the special guests at this showcase. It seems like only Alexander Wang would be able to include supermodels like Shalom Harlow, Karolina Kurkova, Joan Smalls, and (of course) Gisele Bundchen, to walk for his collection. I’d be lying if I said this collection did not force me to recall of a dystopia, but I would be if I claimed it were not admirable.
If you were asking for shining and shimmering leather then you’ve got it! Here come to black and burgundy trench coats that are sure to capture at least plenty of attention when spotted on the streets.
Overall I thought every time this collection steered near predictable or distasteful, the next piece would usually change my thoughts. I really enjoyed the basic color scheme which shows an array of shades that are easily wearable for the fall. If anyone were to wear any of these pieces in public, I would without a doubt recognize some type of genius in there. Alexander Wang always gets my claps.
