Lila Horn’s debut collection this Fall 2012 season looks to India for inspiration, particularly in the technique of custom handblock printmaking to produce its vibrant prints. The prints in the collection are inspired by Indian temples and the architecture and patterns that contour Indian temples. The palette for the collection is bright with hues of orchid purple, raspberry and neon blue — all colors seen on women at an Indian temple. The colors of the collection remind me more of Holi, the festival of color.
The separates including pencil skirts, harem pants, silk tees all boast a sleek and modern silhouette. To the untrained eye, unfamiliar with India the Lila Horn Fall 2012 collection is all about being attention grabbingg and effortlessly cool. An added plus is that the design of the clothes are slimming and completely wearable for everyday. With a few styling tweaks, each piece can easily convert itself from day to night! Overall a beautiful debut collection for the modern woman.
