It seems like Forever 21 is being sued by its very own employees, who are taking legal action after claiming that they are owed unpaid wages. The class action suit was filed by one current and four former employees. These five claim that the fashion chain did not always allow lunch breaks and required them to stay after they had already clocked out to go through mandatory bag checks.
It looks like the employees do not like that the bag checks occur after their shifts, instead of at the end of their shifts. Apparently, bag checks take about a minute, but this is not the first time the issue of unclocked bag checks got legal attention.
There was previously a similar and larger class action suit involving 6,700 employees against Ralph Lauren in 2010, for which the company settled for $4 million.
