No one has ever expected a designer to co-brand gold; not like gold accessories, but actual gold bars. It looks like designer Jean-Paul Gaultier has put his logo onto one-ounce 24-karot ingots of gold, which were supplied by Dillon Gage Metals.

The gold bars are set a price of $1,826.33, along with a $25 handling fee. Since usual spot gold trading sells one ounce of gold for about $1,660, Jean-Paul Gaultier’s name and logo on the gold bars would cost an extra $191.33!

I think these designer collaborations are going a bit too far. What do you guys think?
