Strangely enough, Hasbro will be switching from toys and board games to fashion and apparel. The Pawtucket, makers of select Hasbro toys, is currently planning to recreate its brands for designs on T-shirts, jeans, jackets and shoes.
They have already teamed up with Nike to create Nerf-themed sneakers for a price of $1,600 a pair. Now, they are collaborating with Junk Food Clothing to make T-shirt deigns for the Monopoly game at trendy retailer Kitson.
Hasbro intends on introducing plenty more fashion collaborations over the next year or so. The next Hasbro apparel partnership will feature a Battleship collection with Rocawear. Simon Waters, senior vice president at Hasbro, states: “We’re not only reigniting our brands, we’re reigniting [people’s] childhood.”
As much as I love Hasbro games, I think the company should just stick with toys and board games.
