Crocs: loved by comfort-seekers and hated by fashionistas. Even many celebrities swear by them, including Pete Wentz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Steven Tyler, Jennie Garth, and chef Mario Batali. Some people argue that they’re perfect for kids and gardening, but others find them to be a gimmick. The fashion world especially despises the bright perforated plastic shoes, but sometimes the public chooses function before fashion.
It was always a known fact that Crocs made quite a splash in the shoe industry, but apparently Crocs devotees are truly amazing as the Telegraph reports that the company surpassed $1 billion in sales for the first time in their 10 years of existence. Women’s Wear Daily claims that investors snapped up stock in the company on the 12th of January when they heard about the sales. Shares have gone up by an astounding 6.3%!
While some find the design and plastic decorations tacky and ridiculous, others seem to adore the holey shoes.
Do you think they’re hideous or do you understand why they made so much money?
