The UK’s Advertising Standard Agency (ASA) are known for being pretty strict when it comes to what can and cannot be viewed by the British public. Of course, some things are justifiable and simply not fit to be viewed by the audience, but some things that are banned also carry the “Why did they just do that?!” tag. Miu Miu are the latest to come under fire from the ASA with their advert featuring Hailee Steinfield

The Telegraph says that Miu Miu’s latest advert filmed by Bruce Weber, featuring Steinfield crying on train tracks, is “irresponsible because it depicted a child in an unsafe location.”

Prada Retail UK (the owners of Miu Miu) have retaliated saying that Hailee Steinfield “could have easily moved from where she was sitting because she was not restrained in any way.” I also agree, surely the girl would make a run for it if she saw a train coming, right?

What’s your opinion of the censoring of this advert? Was it justified or is this just safety gone too far?

omg why? D: Oh. Pshaw. stupid ppl… -_-

I don’t think it’s necessary to ban it but it kinda makes sense if they’re worried?

That’s.... a little over the top, I’d say D:

I think it’s over the top too. It isn’t pointing out an idea but is just a picture advertisement. I can understand but just as Prada Retail said, she could easily move and run. She isn’t in any harm.
