On October 27th, it was a special day for some but particularly for one special little girl who’s dream came true. Aspiring to become one of America’s best designers, she went through thick and thin to turn her dream into reality and her name was Anya Ayoung-Chee, the first Asian to win “Project Runway“…
Drawing to that special day, four contestants from the show remained, Anya, Kimberly, Joshua and Victor. They were assigned to design several pieces for their Fashion Week that would be assessed by the judges. The competitors also had only $500 to spend on their fabric of choice.
Stealing the spotlight from the other contestants, Anya’s collection reflected her Caribbean roots which received numerous of praises from the judging panel. She won the hearts of the judges making her the winner of this year’s “Project Runaway” and also the very first Asian to win!
With excitement, Anya commented on her win, “It’s a turning point in my life that I’ll never, ever, ever be able to forget.”
Congratulations Anya! A well deserved win.
