St. Croix is the manufacturer of Steve Jobs’ signature mock turtleneck sweater, and they’ve reported that they’ve had “an almost 100% increase in sales” since the CEO’s death was reported.
Many people are quite suspicious on this claim, seeing as how it wouldn’t be the first time a company has taken advantage of a well-known figure’s death for self promotion, but who knows? Maybe the death of Jobs has spurred the previously unknown urge in people to suddenly start looking like Apple’s CEO. Apparently, that urge, is worth $200, and comes in the form of a turtleneck.
St. Croix rep also announced along with their report, “We have a great respect for everything he did and we’re glad he believed in our American-made product.”
