The theme of Diane von Furstenberg’s show which fell on 9/11 was ‘optimism.’ Rightly, so given her collection. The mood was very bright and lively, nothing dark or too dramatic. In the true spirit of her ’something for everyone’ approach to fashion, every single trend for the Spring was present; bright colors, prints, sheer — it was all there!

Color blocking and bright colors is no doubt a trend that will continue on into the Spring. What I loved about bright colors in DVF’s Spring collection was that it seemed very unexpected. This is largely in part I think, to the styling of the brights with neutral colors.

One issue with the sheer trend is that a lot of the time on the runway, the sheer can be too much. in DVF’s case, sheer is just right. It’s classy and conservative.
What I enjoyed most out of the DVF Spring collection are the floral prints — they remind me somewhat of Marimekko!
