Elene Cassis Spring 2012 Collection: ’60s Mod Elegance

Elene Cassis’ Spring 2012 Collection opened with a live violin performance of Swan Lake and rightly-so. The models then proceeded to float gracefully down the runway showcasing elegant, classic dresses and separates that appeared to be influenced by the a ’60s mod elegance. Dresses were of the sheath or pencil variety along with skirts. Colorblocking was also a trend here with a palette of aqua, ivory, black and coral.

Although mod elegance seemed to be the main theme of the night, there were a few looks that were nods to more current times in fashion — printed one-sleeve dresses with high-slits perfect for a night out on the town, dresses showing off shoulders and chunky stacked accessories. The idea that the Elene Cassis Spring 2012 collection embraces both the past and the present without over-doing it makes the collection quite timeless and for any woman looking to be chic and classy.

I found myself gushing more over the modern pieces, but despite this, I feel like the collection allows for a lot of mix-and-match functionality. You can start your day in Cassis’ a pencil dress and a jacket, then lose the jacket for night.
