When you see a fellow classmate or co-worker wearing the same thing several days in a row, what would you do? A natural instinct would be to go gossip to others, snickering and poking fun while you all whisper among yourselves claiming that “They don’t shower!” or “They’re too poor to afford new clothes!” Well, here’s a woman that will make you feel the guilt of those moments, because she’s not wearing different clothes because she doesn’t shower, she’s doing it for charity.
Sarah Braunstein has announced that she will be wearing the same dress for an entire month to raise money for charity. Her inspriation comes from from Sheena Matheiken, who had worn the exact same black dress for 365 days to raise money and awareness about sustainability. Calling it “the Chicago Uniform Challenge,” Braunstein will be wearing the same dress work for the complete month of September in an effort to raise $5,000 for Chicago’s Connections for Abused Women and their Children. To add a little more life to her outfit, she’ll regularly incorporate accessories donated from Chicago’s favorite boutiques,. The Chicago Uniform Project has already raised more money then her original goal of $5,000 and September is only halfway through.
