Award nights, let it be the Oscars or the Emmys, one very important highlight of the special night is always the red carpet. This is the time when guys whip out their best suits, and girls fight for the Best-Dressed title. The Emmy Award happened on the night of September 18th at the Nokia Theatre in downtown LA. Of course, we were able to see some very beautiful dresses, and some…NOT so attractive ones. Here’s my list of the top 8 dresses on the red carpet that night!
Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab.
That pin-up hair with a exquisitely embroidered long black dress. You can’t get anymore classy than that!
Emily Blunt in Elie Saab.
The intricate details goes so well with the see-through material of this dress. Surprisingly, the midnight blue colour doesn’t clash with the bright redness of the carpet at all.
Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan.
One of the most discussed dress of the night. This female star from Vampire Diaries is looking HELLA sexy with this mermaid like gown. Man she has them curves!
Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang.
Look carefully and you’ll see that this isn’t like every other red dresses you see. This orange-red colour accentuates Vergara’s elegance very well. Not to mention, great choice in accessorizing! Simple but BIG earrings are all that you need.
Julie Bowen in Oscar de la Renta.
God I loved her in Modern Family. This beautiful black gown was an excellent choice for the night, especially when she received an Emmy! One thing though, I wasn’t a fan of the hairstyle. I personally thought she should have kept it up!
Lea Michele in Marchesa.
Yay Rachel kept her hair from Glee! This drop back red gown was definitely one of the “buzz” dress of the night. Great choice Lea!
Minka Kelly in Dior.
This is not one of your typical red carpet sexy gowns. But, Kelly still exuded this sexy aura through the detailed blue lace of this dress. Not a popular choice in terms of design, but it turned out great! (It’s Dior afterall.)
Kelly Osbourne in J Mendel.
Finally Kelly chooses something that’s suitable for her body type! This curve-hugging and indigo dress is beautiful, but unique with the strap design. The hair didn’t happen for me though, blonde seems to match this dress the best.
So that was my list of top dresses from the Emmy 2011. Which ones are your favourite?
