Betsey Johnson’s Spring 2012 Collection has been Johnson’s darkest yet…while still remaining girly. Take the usual doses of Betsey Johnson leopard prints, florals and frills and then add black, studs and skulls and you’ve got Betsey Johnson’s Spring 2012 Collection. Coincedently, you also get what is typically known in Japan as the Gothic Lolita look. While I’m not the biggest fan of the Gothic Lolita look, Betsey Johnson somehow adds enough of her own flare for me to appreciate her latest collection. Of course how could you not love the sass that the models display on the runway? Check out the video:

I love how Betsey Johnson does Gothic Lolita because it’s not too frilly and it’s simplistic. You can actually dress down some of the looks so that they don’t look too Gothic Lolita-y.

This is what a darker Betsey Johnson looks like. The simple details like the visible ribcages juxtaposed on florals is just genius!

These were my favorites of the bunch. I’m particularly taken by the kaleidoscope-like prints. It kind of reminds me of Alexander McQueen rolled around in flowers and leopard print. Overall, I admire the youthful spirit Betsey Johnson exudes with each collection!
