The Faster by Mark Fast Spring 2012 presentation was rare for a few things: It was a presentation, the presentation was in New York (Milk Studios) and the models weren’t as curvy as they’d been in previous Mark Fast runway shows. Save for the skinnier models, I was generally pleased with the fact that the signature sexy Mark Fast knitwear remained and that this time the presentation granted a closer look into Fast’s work.

The inspiration behind the Faster by Mark Fast Spring 2012 Collection was “athletic intricacy.” Athletic intricacy was evidenced in the knits resemblance to mesh and sportswear. What I found most interesting about the mesh-like knits is that its placement on the garments did not make me cringe at all and looked as if it could enhance any body shape to look more athletic and fit. Fringe was strategically placed on tops, skirts and dresses to show off movement — the point of sportswear. You could literally wear the collection all day and take it into the gym with you in the evening and still remain sexy. No wonder Rihanna is a fan.

Aside from the body con qualities, I found myself in love with the collection’s palette. Sherbert shades of blue, purple and orange immediately called to mind ice cream and warmer weather. I really love the loads of color trend for the Spring! I mean, check out this awesome hair:

ummm ~ the colors are cool ..
but it’s not really my style ..
it looks a bit 90’s like ..
and it’s really hard to wear something like this ..
it needs a certain type of bodies and a certain type of personality as well ..
i move too much .. i would totally be so uncomfortable in any of these ~
but i do love the hair a lot .. it’s pretty nice what they did on it .. the colorful effect too looks so nice ~ ^^
