On September 8th, at 10:00 AM EST, our favourite prom dress brand displayed its line of summer/autumn collection at the NY Fashion Week 2011. Based on the collection, we see that BCBG MAX AZRIA really focused on dresses this season. The main fabric used was a light, flowly, and almost satin-y material, to illustrate the carefree nature of the summer seasons. The main colour used was beige and white, the colours we usually refer to as the “earthy tones”, reflecting on the sense of earth and nature of the fall seasons.

Despite the use of neutral colours, BCBG chose to have a clash of a few bright colours on each pieces. Like the dress below (a small hint of yellow among patches of grey and black).


This piece was one of my favourite. One reason being it was one of the only two pieces that featured pants in the collection. Second, I believed that the blue and brown is a great colour to represent the coming chill during Fall. Most importantly, this piece is, in my opinion, actually “wear-able” out in public. As much as I love fashion, some concepts I see in fashion shows are a little too dramatic at times.


This was a piece that I did not quite like. The fabric and design remained similar to the collection, but the bold use of one solid green tone threw me off a bit. Maybe not liking this shade of green is just a personal thing…


This dress was the finale piece, and I must say that it deserved the title. With the bit of pink among a sea of white, the dress not only followed the trend of the collection, but also added a sense of sophistication to the simple design. Don’t you think this dress reminds you of a Greek goddess’ dress, except just more…BCBG?

as long as there are livestreaming or videos for the tokyo girl collection show, i’m sure omghaute/girlybubble will be able to cover it smile

not only is it casual, it’s also more popular for the asian crowd! ^^


i think its really great that you are making these runway post do you think you could also possibly make a post also for the ‘Tokyo Girl’s Collection’?its based more on casual clothes that people can wear and it is less expensive xD
