Beyoncé’s music video for “Run the World (Girls)” debuted during American Idol on May 18, and Beyoncé’s designer costumes did not go unnoticed. She told Billboard Magazine, “It ["Run the World (Girls)"] reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras — things that typically don’t go together — to create a new sound.”
The fashionista can be seen in the music video with high-fashion pieces from Alexander McQueen (Fall 2010 collection), Gareth Pugh (Fall 2011 collection), Jean Paul Gaultier (Spring 2011 collection), Givenchy Couture (Spring 2011 collection), Norma Kamali, Giuseppe Zanotti, Brian Lichtenberg, Alexander Wang, Emilio Pucci, and Sergio Rossi. We can see from her outfits that she did indeed mix to create her own style.

How do you like Beyoncé’s fashion in her music video?
I personally love all of her outfits. My favourite is the stunning first picture, in which she is wearing the Givenchy dress and rocking a bouffant updo. Although there is no contrast of colours, the elements and styles of her look beautifully clashes with the chained dogs and bland wasteland behind her.
