I pretty much fell in love with Badgley Mischka once I learned the words “semi-formal” and “prom.” This designer’s Spring 2011 collection doesn’t fail to live up to my expectations, and you can bet my standards were set pretty high.

Mischka uses a palette of soft whites, golds, and blues, but adds a blast with crimson cardinal color that just simply pops. From sheer flowing tops to skin-fitting embellished dresses, this collection covers both the casual and formal. High-waisted pants and shorts are a must for Mischka’s spring, as is lace, ruffles, and a ton of sequins. I’m feeling two vibes from her outfits — a boho and a 60s glam — and both are simply modernly chic. Simply put, any designer that can send a model out with a do-rag and make it work is an A+ in my book.
