Three months after the suicide of fashion designer Alexander McQueen, the brand has named a new creative director: Sarah Burton. Gucci Group, which owns the label, made the official announcement earlier this week.

Sarah worked with McQueen for more than 14 years, most recently acting as head of design for the women’s collections. The general sentiment seems pretty positive about this announcement since Sarah is said to have a deep understanding of the late designer’s vision. The pressure will certainly be on for Sarah to continue creating such exquisite designs, but I have faith that she knows what she’s doing! Good luck to her and the McQueen team!
