Months after the tragic suicide of fashion designer Alexander McQueen, a large private collection of his pieces will be auctioned off in London. The collection belonged to his close friend Isabella Blow, a British magazine editor who committed suicide herself in 2007.

The collection is said to contain over 90 pieces of McQueen’s collections as well as a collection of Manolo Blahnik shoes and 60 Philip Treacy hats. I can’t imagine what this collection is worth — millions I’m sure.

The auction will take place in September at Christie’s in London. Surely this collection will attract a huge number of buyers, but I still find the whole thing a little unsettling. Buying clothing created by and then owned by two people who were so unhappy that they took their own lives seems like it might come with some bad karma!
