Tyra Banks Gets a Book Deal

You’re really not anybody these days unless you are a model/actress/reality TV show host/author. Duh. That’s why it makes perfect sense that Tyra Banks is adding novel writing to her list of activities. She announced that she’ll be writing a three-part book series about, what else, modeling.

Tyra is apparently working on a series called MODELLAND, which will be a fictional story about a girl trying to make it in the mean, superficial world of modeling (haven’t we seen this theme before, America’s Next Top Model?). In the books, she calls the girls at the modeling academy “Intoxibellas”, which sounds appropriately over-the-top for Tyra. One can only imagine what will happen to the young heroine — Anorexia? Catfights? Inappropriate encounters with Terry Richardson? The possibilities are limitless.

My guess is that Tyra is more or less providing ideas for this book rather than actually writing it. If she really is a talented writer then more power to her, but this whole deal smells of a ghost writer! Will you pick up a copy?
