Last year, for better or for worse, a gigantic Hollister store opened in the SoHo area of New York City. I haven’t been in yet because it’s not really my kind of store, but I’m definitely going to make a point of walking by more often in the coming weeks. The male door greeters are going to lose their shirts as soon as the weather gets a little more consistent!

Hollister is owned by the same company as Abercrombie & Fitch, and they seem to have interesting in-store marketing schemes. I once had a friend who worked at the A&F flagship store on 5th Avenue, and her entire job as a “greeter” was to say hello to people and dance. Yep, dance. She’s a gorgeous girl, but she’s also more than sufficiently competent to run a cash register. Yet, her job didn’t involve anything having to do with handling merchandise or tender.

If I happen to come across this year’s shirtless (and undoubtedly buff) Hollister greeters, I’ll try to get some photographic evidence for you!
