Sometimes the best parts of Vogue are the random tidbits that you can read in the sidebars. This month’s issue features Gisele on the cover, who I must say that I don’t care for very much, but a small “Overheard” column on page 140 contained much more interesting info. Apparently designer Jenni Kayne has been hosting local and organic cooking classes for her friends!

When I think of Jenni Kayne, I immediately think “cool.” She’s a Los Angeles-based designer, but she apprenticed with designers in Italy after she got her degree. Her pieces are definitely smartly-tailored while still maintaining a very West-coast ease.

Back to the cooking though! Wouldn’t you just love to take a cooking class with such a hip lady? The closest I can really get to those cool, indie-type people is Brooklyn — believe it or not, there are a lot of hipsters who grow their own produce and raise chickens in that borough! Still, I think I’d rather chill with Jenni. Who would you like to take cooking classes with?
