After she dressed First Lady Michelle Obama for the inauguration, Isabel Toledo became a familiar name in design. Of course, she had already established herself far before that memorable outfit, both through her own line and as creative director at Anne Klein. Now, Toledo is working on a shoe line with Payless.
Needless to say, chain-store collaborations are sort of popular right now, so this could be a very good move for Toledo to bring her classy-but-expensive style to a more accessible level. This is definitely the best collaborator experience-wise that Payless has managed to secure, and I’m looking forward to what she has to offer — Christian Siriano’s latest collection for Payless was sort of disappointing and unwearable in real life.
According to the report, the shoes will include more practical shoe styles, all under $40.
