Retro White Bathing Suits

Recently, my dad has been going through some old slides from my grandparents’ house. There are lots of great pictures of my dad and my aunt as kids, and also many of my grandmother. It’s funny to look back now and see what she was like back in the 50s and 60s, and my favorite picture is from before she was married, lounging on the beach in a white, one-piece, strapless bathing suit!

If you are into the retro look, bathing suits can be a great way to bring it into your wardrobe without looking like a costume. Unfortunately, I don’t look great in a white suit because my skin pretty much matches it, but maybe some other bronzed beach beauties can use these retro-inspired swimsuits!

This one-piece suit by La Blanca has such a fun, retro feel to it. The bandeau style top and the ruching are really flattering on almost any figure!

I never realized how cute the bathing suits at JCrew were before! This suit is halter-style, and has an underwire top, making it a comfortable choice for ladies with a larger bust. This is such a pin-up look!

If you are more of a bikini girl, this suit from Victoria’s Secret might appeal more to you. Like everything at VS, this suit is meant to be a little skimpy and sexy, but I can tell you that this style of halter push-up is really flattering on girls with a smaller chest. I like the gold button details on the bottoms too — it adds a sort of nautical feel to the suit!
