Wish List: Ann Taylor Silk Luxuriant Jacket

You have to give Ann Taylor props: the brand has been trying to revamp its image to appeal to younger women, and I think it’s working. There have been more items catching my eye from the window lately than ever before! Today I saw this really cool jacket, and I am officially adding it to my wish list!

Like every purchase that I make, I try to assess how versatile something will be in my wardrobe before I buy it. I like to buy things that work in both a dressed-up and dressed-down situation (I like to think that I’d be really good at creating those “Wear it Two Ways” stories that you see in magazines! Hah). I can definitely see myself wearing this jacket with a dress or a nice blouse, but it would also be fun over a tank top and skinny jeans for a night out.

My complaint about this piece is, of course, the price. The jacket is $298, and although the name of the item suggests otherwise, it is actually made out of polyester. This seems like a lot to drop on a polyester jacket — don’t you think? Perhaps I’ll just have to wait until it goes on sale!
