Spring is here, so that means that it is time to start thinking about switching over the closet for the warmer weather and reassessing our wardrobes once again! This can be a somewhat daunting task for some people, but it doesn’t have to be. I’m trying something new this year and using the TouchCloset iPhone application to help me organize my wardrobe. From Ningin: Every March, the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition serves as a friendly reminder that I probably need to revisit my New Years’ resolutions. Recently, I was able to interview one of my reminders, Sports Illustrated model Jessica Gomes. Aside from Sports Illustrated and her work in Korea, some of her credits include Victoria’s Secret, Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. She was kind enough to provide us insight on her life as a model, working in Korea (especially with Lee Min Ho) and her non-secrets to staying beautiful. More »

Praise the Aldo gods, we’ve finally been blessed with a decent knock-off of Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony’s Fall/Winter 2009 buckle booties. (Pictured above.) Rather than spend the $700 on the real deal, I opted for Aldo’s version called Daskal for $100. I’m pretty much in love with them. Behold: More »

The oxford shoe trend has been around for a while now, and it doesn’t look like it will let up any time soon. The look has definitely grown on me as I’ve seen some savvy fashionistas use them as a cool menswear anchor to an otherwise girly outfit! This summer, try out a cute pair of oxford flats with a skirt or a pair of cutoff shorts. More »

It’s no secret that I love fashion, but sometimes getting the pieces I want is really expensive! I try to be smart with my budget, so sometimes there is just no way that I can afford a new pair of shoes at retail price. On occasion, I’ve used eBay to grab some pieces that I really wanted for much cheaper than retail, but there are definitely some things you’ll want to think about before placing your bid. More »

From Girlybubble: Etsy user Giddyspinster recycles platform shoes– she removes the top of the shoe, sands it down, drills holes on the bottom for drainage and then plants various cacti inside them. More »

Sometimes the best parts of Vogue are the random tidbits that you can read in the sidebars. This month’s issue features Gisele on the cover, who I must say that I don’t care for very much, but a small “Overheard” column on page 140 contained much more interesting info. Apparently designer Jenni Kayne has been hosting local and organic cooking classes for her friends! More »

Ever since Chanel put clogs on the feet of models in the Spring 2010 show, it seems that the fashion world has been in a heated debate over the fate of this shoe. Some say that it is here to stay for the spring, while others argue that it’s just plain ugly, even if studded with the infamous double-C’s. A few weeks ago on Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf defined the clog as “An ugly wooden shoe that tried to make a statement and then disappeared.” Ouch! More »

As much as I wish I could say that I was around on Thursday afternoon when the grand master of fashion himself, Karl Lagerfeld, was shooting the Fall 2010 Chanel campaign, I wasn’t. So disappointing. Luckily, that’s what digital cameras and Twitter are for! More »

I found this little tidbit of information on Fashionista sort of interesting: the average American today only spends about 2.98% of their annual income on clothing. If that doesn’t seem like a huge number to you, compare it to the 11% that people spent in 1950! More »
